I love hunting for old used furniture that needs some love and attention the more neglected the better. I would love to share my creations and some of my inspiration with you.

Is there a doctor in the house?
This was an old doctors exam table from the 1900's by W.D. Allison company from Indianapolis. Well needless to say I may have destroyed an expensive antique. It just came down to the question who's going to buy an exam table? So I had to figure out a way to make it usable furniture it had a lot of character and potential so I ripped off the black vinyl and under neath was stuffing and hay, it was a huge mess and Im pretty sure it was toxic. Well after all that I painted the top for some contrast and left the foot rest I thought it would make a nice cutting board or just raise it for when you need extra space. Now its a useable farm table!
Brilliant!! I think you did the right thing.....just because something is old doesn't mean it's worth a lot. Now it's cute, useful, and has a story or two to tell!!
I think you did the right thing too... it was a nice antique, but really, the goal is to make older things useful right so they have a place in our homes. Someone will get a lot of use out of this table & they'll be happy to tell people about it's former life.
Very Nice! You may have destroyed a valuable antique, but I think this turned out beautifully! Much more functional! Lots of purpose with this one now! Sewing table, craft table, kitchen/dining table for a small space! Kudos to you! Love it!
Lol at who would be an old exam table. You certainly have breathed new life into this old piece and made it useful again. I am a new follower from Catch a Glimpse. Vicky from www.messforless.net
I think what u did was brilliant! It *may* have been an antique but it also may have ended up in the dump..becasue who wants an exam table? Now, its stunning and a forever piece!!! I LOVE it and envious that its not mine :-)
i also think it was brilliant! it really wasn't useable at all, and now it is useable, chic, and still has character and charm and a lot of the old characteristics. nicely done, emily!
This is great!!! You definitely had a vision. I wouldn't have even known where to start. I'd love it if you would share this at my party that started on Tuesday. www.projectqueen.org

LOVE this! In fact a quick scroll through your posts and I am so jealous of your fins and what you do with them...AMAZING! Thanks for linking to tickled pink!
I love it. You did this interesting piece of furniture a huge favor and gave it new life. Just because something is an antique and maybe not too common, does not mean it has much value living on as it was. Great work. Thanks for sharing.
