Cursive Alphabet Table

I got this tall table off of craigslist for only $25!!!  woohoo   I had this Idea to make it like an old school chalk board, but I didn't want to use chalk board paint so that people could eat on it and quite frankly chalk in MESSY.  I tried to make it like a big school desk and I thought how cute would it be to write the cursive alphabet on it.  Little did I know how hard it would be because the last time I had written real cursive letters must have somewhere around fifth grade (and lets just say that was a while ago).  nothing makes you feel not so smart than having to look up how to write a cursive upper case Q- seriously who came up with this stuff?  Anyway I got it done and yes it felt like homework, its not so perfect ( we'll call it primitive) and here it is before and after.

  13. Okay, even if I wasn't a teacher I would find this table awesome! It looks just like the bulletin board displays around my classrooms when I was little. I know exactly what you mean about writing cursive since I half print, half write. I could never teach this skill to anyone else so thank goodness I have not been expected to do so with the grades I have taught. Amazing upcycle!
