Husband's Furniture Makeover pt. 2
Well I showed you the end table that my husband finally let me paint- now here is the matching dresser. It was raw wood very boring (sorry no before pic), I used Behr venus teal and left a lot of the wood shooing through. I think this might be one of my new favorite colors so Im sure you will be seeing a lot more of it.

Too hot to handle too cold to hold
Finally after years of -just living with it -my husband let me paint his end table and dresser!!! woohoo!
I brought home a dresser from an estate sale and he decided that he want to to keep it for himself. Let me tell you this NEVER happens, he is always telling me that "I can't keep everything that I bring home". In my excitement I forgot to take before pictures but they were not much to look at just plain raw wood with forest green wood knobs. The end table we are keeping (until I find something better to replace it, hehe) so I thought we should have a pop of color in the bedroom. I used Behr red pepper and dry brushed over the wood one coat I wanted a lot of the wood to show than sanded for the old world furniture look.
I got a box of these knobs form a yard sale and I have been using them on everything I can.

Bohemian Small Chest of Drawers
This piece of furniture turned out to be a "happy accident"! I found it at an estate sale and knew I wanted it. Event thought it only had 3 drawers it has the look of an apothecary cabinet with many drawers. the first thing I did was take the front board off the top, it didn't seem necessary to trap your belonging on the top. (it looked too much like a tiny changing table) Then I painted the whole thing in Behr restless sea and boy o boy that is a vibrant blue. I did not like the way it looked too blue but I was committed so I continued and painted the whole thing. I let it dry and then decided to dry brush a neutral color over the top first I tried a copper color and that was wrong, wrong, wrong. I finally settled on collectable by behr (the color I used in my dining room) and it was ok it really toned down the blue but I was not happy with it yet. I put it to bed and came back to it in the morning and to my surprise once the paint dried it showed the right amount of blue and beige (texture, texture, texture)and I loved it. I sanded it, distressed it and hand waxed it and now Im very happy with my little accident.
