Sweet Little Table

"Im not lazy Im artistic"  That's what Im going to say when someone asks me why I didn't scrape all the veneer off the sides of this little table.  I really thought this table was so cute but all the veneer on the side was bubbled up and falling off.  I thought how easy I'll just rip it of and paint the wood but nooo some of it had to be really stuck on!  It's texture right? I decided to work with it and accentuate the inconstancies with layers of paint (elephant skin and copper by behr)

  1. I have a piece I have been scraping and down to the stuck and frustrated parts! If my iron doesn't work, I am so going with your idea! It looks great!

  2. I love the legs on this table. Veneer is so hard to get off sometimes...I would have probably just went with paint, too. It looks very rustic..I like it!

  5. I LOVE LOVE LOVE how you embraced the veneer issues on this piece. I love how it adds to the shabbiness and rustic qualities of the piece. Ya know, it is what it is, so why not work with it?

I love the layers of color and just everything, this is awesome!

  7. I had a small table with the same problem - I just sanded the level changes as smooth as possible and distressed the heck out of it. Of course, you already know how to do an excellent job of this. Elephant skin and copper - who would have thunk of that combo? Beautiful!
