Im going to name you Lacie

This started as an ordinary ho hum dresser but I found a lace table runner that fit the top perfectly so I thought I would try and use it as a stencil.   The color I used is Behr portsmouth olive and chateau for the creamy color.  I used spray paint and changed the silver dated knobs.  Using the lace as a stencil was a bit of a challenge because it moved a lot despite being taped down.  The lace also absorbs a lot of the paint so I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out but I like the affect.

  1. This is darling! I've been scouring the house for something to use as a stencil too, do you think it would work if I just painted the doily and then pressed it down?

  2. Emily this is so cute!!! I have tried just a little bit of lace stenciling but I have never done it on furniture. It looks adorable! I am sure this will sell fast, unless you are keeping it!

  3. What a great transformation! I love how the stenciled top ended up--not too precise but almost like batik! I think it's beautiful.

  4. Ally: Maybe a good heavy spray starching and ironing of the doily??? The starch will make it more like a stencil and it ought not move if taped in place.
