The Earl of Grey

It's a woman's prerogative to change her mind, right?
This is the dresser I got to replace my husband's dresser and night stand  ( click the links to see original post) I originally found it at an estate sale and he liked it and wanted it.

Before

The dresser was in really good shape just missing a few knobs.  I stained the sides and two of the drawers and painted the top and outside with Behr gentle rain.  The other four drawers I painted in Behr antique tin and painted the details in red.

Here's the part where I change my mind and start second guessing myself.  I think it might look too busy there are a lot of horizontal stripes so I was thinking it will be an easy fix to just paint the lowest brown drawer grey. That would make three grey drawers on the bottom to help anchor it and make it look less busy.  Any thought before I jump in and go for it.

Embellished Dresser

(O no I forgot to take before pictures but trust me it was ugly brown old dresser)  I used the color underwater by behr and thought it really needed a green stripe for character.  I found these little wooden leaf embellishments at the local craft store and knew they were destine to be part of this dresser. I added the jadeite antique knobs too, I really liked how it turned out sometimes the furniture just evolves on its own.

$1 Table

Yes I bought this not so attractive table for one dollar at a yard sale.  I know it was not a huge score with the formica top but for $1 I could not pass it up and everything looks better with a coat of paint.  I dry brushed a coat of red letting the wood show through.  Now I think someone might actually buy it for the patio or kids room.

Sweet Little Table

"Im not lazy Im artistic"  That's what Im going to say when someone asks me why I didn't scrape all the veneer off the sides of this little table.  I really thought this table was so cute but all the veneer on the side was bubbled up and falling off.  I thought how easy I'll just rip it of and paint the wood but nooo some of it had to be really stuck on!  It's texture right? I decided to work with it and accentuate the inconstancies with layers of paint (elephant skin and copper by behr)
