Up-cycled Wednesday Feature Party #2

Yes I got super busy I totally forgot last weeks feature's but never fear I will try it again.  I love looking through everyones blogs to see what great idea's you have come up with- and there are a lot.

~ This is a small sample of things that have caught me eye ~

 I have a special place in my heart for waterfall dressers and Anneke @Rustichic did this awesome Union Jack Buffett redo.  She did a great job, and it looked like it was a lot of work too.   I love the color choices!

This next dresser I just think is PRETTY its soft, delicate with great detail and the blue is perfect.  Its by ShabbyMomma

This is one nightstand that I would have passed up but Im sure glad SHE didn't because now its a completely different piece. (sometimes YOU can find a deal at goodwill)

This really nice redo dresser is from a new blogger the colors and distressing are really nice.  I can't want to see what else she comes up with.

Happy Monday

It's a beautiful sunny fall day here in Oregon, it makes for a even happier Monday. 
 I have been very busy working on all the little's (small decor items that are the filler in my furniture booths)  I find it a pain because Im not a meticulous person, so I would rather get one piece of furniture done in one or two days and sell it for 10 times the price of one little item.   But in the end it all  looks nice and adds some variety. 


Here's just a small glimpse of one of my projects. 
I made scrabble tile Christmas signs using an old broken picture frame.

This dresser started out as a plain old wood dresser and now with the help of my bird stencil it has plenty of character.  I used three different colors: dragonfly for the base of the chest, atmospheric (grey) and clear pond (light blue) for the drawers all by Behr.

Scottish Isle

Yep my new favorite green (Behr's Scottish Isle)  I just love the color combination of black and green. It just instantly makes a shabby piece of furniture classy and sharp looking.  I got this dresser as a yard sell left over because everyone passed it up but I saw its hidden potential and gave it a second chance.

Top Secret

Top Secret -Technique 

This is my little secret weaponed, I use this Rub n' Buff on everything!  If I have hardware from an old dresser that is the dreaded brass color or if it not aged enough. I just rub this stuff on and poof I don't have to buy new hardware.  

I thought for once I would use it for its intended purpose, that is for aging picture frames.  Well at least I found it in the picture framing section of the craft store.  They have several colors to choose from but the one I like is the Spanish copper. 

I got this nice picture but I thought the gold frame just looked tacky in my house.  I just rubbed on my Rub n' Buff I used a paint brush for the places my fingers couldn't reach.  

It dries quickly and has the consistency of shoe polish, I sometimes need paint thinner to clean out my brush but it usually comes off my finger with a little soap and scrubbing. 

All said its a cheap alternative to replacing hardware or picture frame.
