Sea Captain's Writing Desk

ok not really a sea captain's but it looks like it could be. (right?)  I got this from my neighbor but sadly he let it sit out in several rain storms so it actually started looking like it was from the sea.  I of coarse had to rescue it from its weathered life giving it a new one at the same time preserving some of its character.

Before

The ugly green leather top was bubbled and pealing so I pulled it all off.
(not an easy task)

After

I tried to use colors to bring out the ones in the old map I used to replace the old leather top.

Yes I used and old Jane Eyre book, it was all I had and no it has nothing to do with the map of Italy hopefully none will notice. Im using my artistic license!
